FireFighter is the newest innovation from Encore Controls Inc. It is the easiest, most cost effective way to add smoke alarm monitoring to your 2GIG control panel. FireFighter’s unique technology monitors the existing UL smoke detectors within the home. When an alarm is detected a wireless signal is sent to the control panel which in turn contacts the central monitoring station. With interconnected hardwired smoke detectors found in most homes today, only one FireFighter is needed to monitor ALL the smoke detectors within the home.

2GIG® Encrypted Flood and Temperature Sensor

Once the sensor probe detects the presence of water for three (3) minutes, the integral transmitter will send a wet alarm transmission to the security/control panel. The probe will also send a restore (dry) report when the presence of liquid is no longer detected by the flood probe for three (3) minutes. For flood reporting, the sensor requires the installation of the supplied external flood probe. The sensor is capable of detecting clean or dirty fresh water, salt water, or tap water.

The 2GIG-FT1e-345 is a fully supervised, tamper protected one-way 345 MHz sensor. It will monitor the ambient temperature and will detect a wet/dry flood condition. The sensor reports wet/dry conditions and temperature to the panel.

2GIG® Encrypted Smoke/Heat/Freeze Sensor

The 2GIG 345MHz Repeater is designed to work with 2GIG security systems providing more flexibility in where wireless sensors can be installed. The 2GIG Repeater can be installed in the optimal location to extend the range of 2GIG panels for large jobs. The 2GIG 345MHz Repeater will repeat 2GIG and Honeywell sensor signals to 2GIG panels. The Repeater is a plug and play device that will immediately start repeating signals when powered on. The rechargeable battery provides backup power in case of AC power loss.

UL 217 & 268 Smoke Alarm Standards bring 250 new technological changes to traditional smoke detection. Meeting the new UL standards, the 2GIG Smoke Heat & Freeze Detector provides increased performance and better detection of smoke, including smoke from common synthetic materials found in home furnishings. These synthetic materials generally have a faster burn rate reducing escape time from an average of 17 minutes to 3-4 minutes (UL Press Release – February 2018).

Traditional smoke detectors trigger an alarm when any smoke density reached a specific level, which could have just been normal cooking events. The 2GIG Smoke Heat & Freeze Detector uses advanced algorithms and a sophisticated optical chamber to improve the detection of smoke particles created by some synthetic materials, separate from organic smoke associated with normal cooking events. The new technology is designed to trigger an alarm faster when synthetic smoke is detected versus smoke from cooking, adding to safety and peace of mind.

Thus, the alarm is triggered faster if smoke from common synthetics is detected, important because synthetic materials tend to burn faster.

A high-temperature alert is sent to the panel and the siren is triggered when the ambient temperature exceeds 134 ̊F. A Rate-of-Rise temperature alert is sent to the panel and siren is triggered when the ambient temperature is at 104 ̊ F and rises 15 ̊F or more in one minute, and a freeze warning is sent to the panel if the ambient temperature is below 40 ̊F for more than one minute.
